Revelation 3:8 (KJV) That Will Be Enough

Revelation 3:8 (KJV)

I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

Jesus credited the church in Philadelphia with three things:

  • They had a little strength
  • They kept His Word
  • They had not denied His name

I see this in contrast with the church in Laodicea, who said of themselves:

  • We are rich
  • We are increased with goods and
  • We have need of nothing

First, we ought to prefer the word of the Lord above our own. Second, we ought to accept our limitations. The only way to have the anointing and blessing of God is to admit we have none of our own. If we may but, have a little of his strength, that we keep His Word, and remain true to His name, that will be enough.

To my readers:
First of all, thank you! It is a great joy to me to know you read the thoughts and lessons God has given me in His word. Secondly, I would love to hear from you. Please feel free to leave comments.
