Acts 13:34-37 (KJV) Keep a Preacher Busy

Acts 13:34-37 (KJV)

And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.
Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:
But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.

Paul’s first recorded message was:

  • Biblical
  • Reasonable and focused on the
  • Resurrection of Christ

From there he made applications concerning:

  • Forgiveness of sins and
  • Justification from all things
  • He then urged his hearers to continue in the grace of God.

This is enough to keep a preacher busy for a lifetime.

  • Preach the resurrection
  • Preach sins forgiven
  • Preach justification by faith
  • Preach faithfulness to the grace of God
