But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
I am always amazed by those souls who choose a religion that cannot rest. I think I know why. It is in the corrupted nature of the old man to work. He feels like he is contributing. He believes he has value in his efforts. There is satisfaction in the work of his hands.
This satisfaction is a beautiful thing in the realm of earning a living. However, it is a heresy with eternal consequences in the realm of the spiritual. In Christ, we who are believers have ceased from our labor. Our iniquity is purged. Our conscience is clean. There is nothing left to do but give praise to God.
Another problem the religious soul has with this is that he no longer has any leverage over others. That guilty conscience in man is a powerful tool for manipulation. But the Christian has no guilt of conscience. There is nothing in him that can be used to prod him in the direction of the masses.
It is why regimes such as communism outlaw Christianity.
It is also why religious leaders point people to a life of continual works and not toward the finished work of Jesus.
