Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children:
There are, in this Psalm, certain elements we would expect to praise the Lord:
- Angels and hosts
- Sun, moon and stars
- Mountains, hills and waters
- Trees, beasts and flying things
There are some things we might wonder if they were ever meant to praise the Lord:
- Fire and hail
- Snow and vapor
- Stormy wind
There are some things we might believe can no longer praise the Lord:
- Dragons no longer exist on the earth.
The evolutionist would say they lived long before there were men. The Biblical narrative says different. To know the truth about them praises the Lord.
There are some things that seem reticent to praise the Lord:
- Kings
- Princes
- Judges
It comes down to this:
- Young men
- Maidens
- Old men and
- Children
All of us ought to be reminded, instructed, and encouraged every day to praise the Lord.
- Teach your children to praise the Lord
- Raise your family to praise the Lord and
- Never grow weary of praising the Lord
