We are, of course, not Jesus. We will not have the same power or the same authority He had in His words.
But His servants are to be as their Lord. It would do us well to speak in some measure with the power and authority Christ did.
The word power means:
· mastery
· competency
· ability
With such mastery comes:
· force
· strength
· influence
I notice He spoke doctrine. And it was His Word. We would do well to so master the Word of God, and the doctrines taught in it that when we speak, we may do so with competence. Such mastery of the Word will naturally carry its own influence.
Romans 1:16 (KJV)
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
