So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
While I am aware that the context of Galatians 3 extends through the chapter, indeed, through the epistle and then through the Bible, this passage is sufficient to lay to rest the heresies of the modern Hebraists, Messianic Jew movements, and all those who lean upon the Old Testament law for some sort of justification.
Galatians 3:8-13 (KJV)
And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
One, justification is by faith.
Whether Jew or Gentile, God justifies by faith.
Two, faith is a blessing.
The spiritual children of Abraham are not the Jews or the Muslims. They are those who have trusted Christ through faith alone.
Three, the law is a curse.
There is no justification, no salvation, no blessing in trusting the law—only the continual burden of striving to do right and never attaining it.
Four, Christ has redeemed the blessed from that curse.
The conclusion is obvious: trust Christ and let go of that burden. The blessing of Christ is being released from the curse of the law.
