Romans 1:20 (KJV) The Power of God, Not Debate

Romans 1:20 (KJV)

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Romans 1:18–22 contains one of the most challenging truths in the Word of God—because it is so damning to the lost man and, in his mind, easily denied.

The Bible says:

  • They know God is.
  • They choose to deny Him whom they know is.
  • They, by their denial of God, are fools.
  • They hold the truth of God in unrighteousness.
  • They are therefore without excuse.
  • And the wrath of God will one day be revealed against them.

This is one of those truths where we, who believe the Word of God, must take the Word at its word. We’ll not win a debate with the natural mind on this subject because we can’t prove his heart. If a man says he can’t see God in creation, how would we prove otherwise?

I do not see this as a hole in the Gospel, but rather a matter of vital importance. It is God’s design that we do not win debates, prove the things of the Spirit, or convince sinners with enticing words of reason. The soul is converted not by our means, but through the power of God.

We are not the players—adeptly using the tools God gave us to meet our goals. We are simply the tools God uses to accomplish what He intends.

Many professing Christians have lived in frustration, not recognizing this difference. Much damage has been done by those who insist this is not the case.

Christianity is not using God to make the world better, or even to win souls. Christianity is full surrender to God, day by day.

The Power of God, Not Debate: How True Conversion Happens

Are you tired of man’s reasoning and ready to trust God’s Word completely? God has already revealed Himself in creation. The question isn’t “Is there evidence?”—it’s “Will you submit to what God has already shown?”

👉 Action Step: Share this truth with one person today who says they “don’t see God.” Don’t debate—declare the Word. Let God do the work.

💬 Question for you: Have you ever struggled to explain faith to someone who insists they don’t believe in God? Tell us how you handled it in the comments.
