Deuteronomy 33:3 (KJV)

Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy hand: and they sat down at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy words.

We are told from the outset that this is a blessing from Moses upon the children of Israel, and that it is a blessing given just before his death.

Moses had an advantage not all of us—or even many of us—have; he knew when he would die. In that moment, before ascending the mountain to meet God alone, he gave this last, heartfelt blessing upon the people.

• This wasn’t meaningless sentiment.
• This wasn’t mere wishful prose.
• This wasn’t just religious expression.

Moses had walked with God, followed God, spoken with God, and spoken God’s Word for forty years. This was not idle emotion—it was prophetic, inspired, infallible, precious, and perfect—the very Word of God.

In blessing the children of Israel, Moses said,

“Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy hand: and they sat down at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy words.”

To break it down:

• God loves His people.
• God holds His people.
• God seats His people.
• God speaks to His people.

This is true of Israel in the wilderness, Israel in the land, and of true Israel today—those who are the children of God by faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.
