Malachi 2:17 KJV
Ye have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied him? When ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and he delighteth in them; or, Where is the God of judgment?
I know this is an Old Testament judgment but I think it must be born in mind that it is the last of the Old Testament and is in many ways transitional. Besides, the Lord is the same yesterday today and forever. What would have wearied God in the Old Testament times would weary Him still today.
I see this as a judgment against modern American Christianity and the current trend to say that anyone who says they believe in Jesus is "good in the sight of the Lord and He delighteth in them."
God does not delight in the sin of adultery
God does not delight in the sin of homosexuality
God does not delight in the sin of drunkenness
God does not delight in the sin of self prideEven if those who are involved in them claim to be saved. We have raised a generation of rebellious and wicked people, many who claim to know the Lord as Saviour, but whose evil deeds are an abomination to the Lord.
To give a person assurance that the Lord loves them and that their sins are ignored (forgotten) by God just because they have made a claim of salvation and yet have not been changed in any way by the Lord
To emphasize God's readiness to save to the point where salvation is merely a prayer we say rather than a work done by Almighty in the soul and
To de-emphasize the judgment of God to the point where nearly any sin is now committed by professing Christians who will then serve in God's church as if they are perfectly righteousMust weary the Lord
