Matthew 26:8 KJV
But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?
The woman's box was wasted on the Lord
It could no longer serve as an investment
It could not longer be used to meet her personal needs
It could no longer be given as a charity gift
It was completely gone; used up
But
It was a blessing to the Lord and
It could never be taken from her by thieves.
By wasting this gift on the Lord she had in fact seen to it that she could never lose it again.
She had poured it out on the Lord and laid up for herself a treasure in heaven.
That is no waste
