Patient Continuance

Romans 2:7 KJV
To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:

Patient continuance in well-doing

This implies that there will be little or no reward for the well-doing or else there would be no need for patience.
Rom 8:24
.... but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? (KJV)

Our well-doing ought to be done in pursuit of the reward even when the reward seems to elude us. There will be times, and for some it might be most of the time, that we cannot see the fruit of our pursuit.
We seek, but we do not feel like we find.
We knock, but we do not feel like it has been opened.
We ask, but it does not seem like it has been given.
Patient continuance seeks still.

And we must continue in this well-doing. We must not give in. We must not quit. We must not let
Discouragement,
Distraction or
Disgruntlement

Turn us from our course of patient continuance in well-doing.

God's promise is that it will result in the reward; glory, honor and immortality, and ultimately, eternal life in the end.
