Deuteronomy 32:29 KJV
O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!
This verse is obviously speaking not of Israel but of the nations of Canaan that Israel was about to dispossess. Moses, under the inspiration of the Lord, cries that these people had been wise and understood and considered their latter end, what difference might have been the outcome if only that were the case.
The heart of the prophet, and the heart of God, and thus the heart of those who would be faithful to the Lord today, should be one of burden and brokenness for those who have refused to be wise in fearing the Lord. Our hearts ought to be broken for the lost.
Rather than holding ought against them,
Rather than seeking vengeance toward them
We must be heartbroken for the judgment they face.
It might make the difference in seeing some of them come to the Lord.
