That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
There is, the Bible says, a "strong consolation" in laying hold of the hope set before us. Hope is not having the thing hoped for. Hope is seeing it by faith. When we get a grip on the truth that God cannot lie and that His promises to us, though often long in coming, are as sure as the eternal God, there is wonderful comfort and consolation.
