Titus 2:11-13 KJV
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Grace, rather than giving us license, teaches us
To deny certain things
To live a certain way and
To look for a certain Saviour
Far from permitting our abandon of standards of righteousness, grace teaches us to press toward things that are different than this world and things that are more sure than this world.
A certain Saviour speaks both of the surety of His coming and the fact that He is a specific Saviour; not one of our own choosing.
