1 Samuel 17:48 KJV
And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came and drew nigh to meet David, that David hasted, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine.
When Goliath began his advance, David did the same. The Bible says that David, "...ran toward the army to meet the Philistine."
Preachers have noted that David took with him five stones because Goliath had four brothers. But David did not take anything to use against the army. Still he ran toward them. He knew God would give the means to defeat the whole when he had done what was his to do.
And so God did.
When the Philistines saw that Goliath was dead they began to flee and Israel began to pursue them.
Victory was won.
The forces against the believer appear to be huge and the help we have against them seems to be stalled. But those are no concern to us. We may boldly run to confront the enemy of righteousness knowing that God is more than able to give us the victory.
