Isaiah 41:5 KJV
The isles saw it, and feared; the ends of the earth were afraid, drew near, and came.
I am not one given to finding things that are not specifically in the Word of God. However I am aware that some have suggested that various references to the islands in the Scriptures could be prophetic of England and then of the United States. I can see that in this passage.
The timing is after the Babylonians captivity.
• The Isles are instructed not to boast in their might and accomplishments; these have all been orchestrated of the Lord.
• The Isles feared, and from them, the nations to the ends of the earth feared the Lord and drew near to God.
• People from around the world came together and forged a powerful union, which could indicate the United States.
But I note in verse eight that God's attention is still on Israel and what follows sounds like the Kingdom. The Lord will gather people of all nations to Himself.
America has been a powerful figure to bring people to know the Lord: but God's plan remains to bless Israel and from her to bless all nations.
