Isaiah 40:25 KJV
To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.
It is significant that this question and the one like it in verse eighteen, are written in this chapter. The key of the chapter (and really, of the rest of Isaiah) is the comfort found in the Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Men try to carve out the image of God.
• They attempt to fashion some likeness of God
• They look for some means to know God
But they so often do not see that God has given them the answer to their search. It is the Person of Jesus Christ who is the express image of God. When we have seen Christ, we have seen the Father. It is
• In Christ that we meet God
• In Christ we obtain comfort
• In Christ we find strength in times of weakness
