Philippians 2:8 KJV
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Verses 5-8 provide us with the seven steps of Christ's humiliation.
Christ is all the glory of God. But Christ laid that glory aside to take the fashion as a man.
But verse eight gives what I think may be an easily overlooked thought; He was found in this humbled state. He humbled Himself and allowed that His humility be discovered. I hesitate to say He placed it on display because that sounds proud but keep in mind the degree of humility evidenced in the Gospel; from heavenly glory to death on the Cross. There is no level of sinful human pride in that. It is an example of humility that is itself divine.
The humility of Christ is that aspect of His incarnation that must be discovered among men. We must lift it up. We must make that known.
