Galatians 5:11 KJV
And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.
The offense of the cross was the liberty it gave over the law of the Jews. Had the Apostle compromised the cross with the law there would have been no dispute between himself and the religious. They truly could have been another sect of Judaism.
But the Apostle's mandate was not his own but of the Lord. Through the cross Jews and Gentiles are free from the law for righteousness.
However there is this caution; this liberty is not to be used as an occasion for the flesh. Christians have a new law of love and in that love, of serving one another.
