2
Samuel 7:27 KJV
For thou, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel , hast revealed to thy
servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found
in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee.
The chapter begins with David
wanting to build a house for God and ends with God promising to build David's
house. We never out give God. His resources are so rich and His goodness so
great that whenever we become anxious in heart to do something for the blessing
of God, He has already planned to do something greater for our blessing.
Here is a practical lesson
attached to this verse as David claims he is motivated to pray for His family
based on God's promise to bless his family. Our lesson is to let the Word of
God be the motivation for our prayer life. Before we can ever pray as we ought,
we must let the Lord speak to us. And He will speak to us if we are in the Word
of God as we ought to be.
