Keeping Secrets

Romans 16:25-26 KJV
Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

Yesterday a surprise birthday party was held for one of the ladies of our church. Her children attend our Christian school and one of them is known to "spill the beans" about most of those types of secrets. Keeping a secret is just about impossible for him.

So he called my wife at 7:30 in the morning just to tell her he made it. His mom had left for work and was none the wiser about the party. He had kept the secret- secret. But he had kept it secret as long as he could. He had to tell someone he had succeeded and my wife was that someone.

The Old Testament contained a mystery, a secret. While the gospel of Christ is there it is difficult to discover without the looking glass of the New Testament. But with that New Testament in hand the secret is revealed manifested. It is a mystery no longer.

And those who hold the secret revealed are anxious, like Paul and the Apostles, to make it known.
