Unclean Devils

Luke 4:33 KJV
And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,

There was a man in the synagogue which had a spirit of an unclean devil. Sometimes we think of church as being off limits to those imps of Satan. Nothing could be further from the truth. Churches become havens for the unclean, not because the church is a bad place but because Satan has reason to keep an eye on those who gather for the cause of Christ; if he can shake up the work of the Lord, so much the better.

Jesus' tactic was to cast out the devil and not the man. We don't have the same success with that as Jesus did, but the principle remains; our battle is not with flesh and blood. It is the devil we are after and not the man himself.

It isn't always easy to remember that.
But remember it we must.

There will always be people who get into churches and seek to rip them up. That should neither surprise us or shake our faith. Keep our eyes of Christ, not on the problem makers. Love people as souls whom Christ loves. Fight our battles in the supernatural realm and not the carnal.
