Always the Truth

John 16:7 KJV
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

Jesus taught them some things to prepare them not to stumble
Vs 1
Jesus taught them some things that made them sorrow and
Vs 6
Jesus left some things to be taught later by the Holy Ghost
Vs 12

Though there were things that caused them sorrow Jesus nevertheless told them the truth. A Christian needs to be sensitive when he or she speaks to people so as not to say those things they are not yet ready to hear. Our place is not to dump on people but rather to teach people and prepare people. That requires two things:
  • That we teach line upon line, here a little there a little
  • That we teach the truth

People need the truth of the Word of God. They don't need "feel good everything is going fine, there is no devil in the world" messages. They need the truth.
  • They don't need all of it in one day
  • They don't need meat when they haven't yet gotten the milk but
  • They always need truth
