Isaiah
16:14 KJV
But now the LORD hath spoken, saying, Within three years, as the
years of an hireling, and the glory of Moab shall be contemned, with all
that great multitude; and the remnant shall be very small and feeble.
Though God prophecies the
destruction of Moab
down the timing of it, still God says there will be a small number of Moabites
who survive and remain. We are at our best when we are small and feeble.
- Give us any strength of our own
- Give us any size of numbers
- Give us any degree of wealth is
and we immediately become
degenerate.
The apostle said he would glory
in his weakness because it was in that weakness God was made strong in him. [1]
We do not know the exact nature
of this prophetic destruction any more than we know what exactly was Paul's
thorn in the flesh but we do know that God's grace spared a few of the Moabites
just as God's grace was sufficient for Paul. In that grace there are alive even
today, souls who have opportunity of salvation because Moab was not
utterly destroyed.

[1] 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 KJV
And
lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the
revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan
to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
For
this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
And
he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made
perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my
infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Therefore I
take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions,
in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
