Not That Great A Prize

Isaiah 18:7 KJV
In that time shall the present be brought unto the LORD of hosts of a people scattered and peeled, and from a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden under foot, whose land the rivers have spoiled, to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, the mount Zion.

God has a gift to be presented to Himself; it is a people the Bible says, who are
  • Scattered and peeled
  • Terrible
  • Meted out
  • Trodden under foot and
  • Spoiled
I take this present to carry us to Romans twelve where we are to present our bodies a living sacrifice unto God.

It is not that we are such a wonderful prize to God. We have been sorely treated in this world. Our own conformity to the world, our having been allured into it, has left us with little that would appeal to such an holy God except that He loves us.
  • We are not to present ourselves to God as if we think we have some great gift to bring Him
  • We are simply to present ourselves as the objects of His love

That is all that He cares about anyway; love Him because He first loved us.
