Ezekiel 39:1 KJV
Therefore,
thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD;
Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:
There could be nothing more terrible than
such a pronouncement as "I am against thee" coming from the lips of
God. It is interesting to read the students of the Bible who lived in much
earlier times. These days so called experts have so well assigned names to Gog
and Magog that I have no question who is the subject. They come from the North
of Israel and they must be nations such as Russia
or Turkey - probably a
confederation of those northern nations such as was the Soviet
Union .
Barnes simply labels it "Evil"
and says this passage represents the destruction of Evil in the last days. This
is the safest solution to the question regarding who.
·
In the latter days
"Evil" will come against Israel
·
In the latter days
"Evil" will be destroyed by God
·
In the latter days
"Evil" will be forever buried in the desert
·
In the latter days God
will bless Israel
entirely.
God is against any form of evil. It would
do us well to stay well clear of it and to declare our own opposition against
evil. We would surely be on God's side if we are on the side opposed to evil.
