John 11:35 KJV
Jesus wept.
I seems to me
that the weeping of the Lord here is more important than is generally looked
upon. He is certainly not weeping over the death of Lazarus; He knew He would
rise again.
- He wept because of the
dullness of faith and understanding in these two, some of His closest companions.
- He wept over their
interest in an immediate temporal answer to their prayer rather than the
eternal and permanent one
Jesus wept
because the focus of everyone present was on Lazarus' death and looked at the
promise of a future resurrection as having little value to them just then.
