Romans 11:2 KJV
God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel
Paul gives assurance that God had not cast away His people and that despite the fact that
They had killed the prophets
Vs 3
God had placed before them a stumbling block
Vs 9-10
They as branches had been broken from the root of the tree
Vs 17
They had been broken off because of their own unbelief
Vs 20
If God would not abandon Israel for all of that then we may trust that God will not abandon us
- Though we are absolutely sure we deserve it
- Though it might often feel as if He has abandoned us
Still, God is faithful to His Word; He will never leave us or forsake us.
