Psalms 100:3 KJV
Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that
hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his
pasture.
There is nothing new under the sun. Not even the argument of atheism. We
know much more about the polytheism and the idolatry of the Psalmist's era, but
there were surely those who, as today, deny the existence of any gods and
explained the existence of man (or attempted to do so) apart from a Creator.
The writer of this Psalm makes the bold and blunt statement, "Know ye
that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves…" and moves
from there to claim then that we:
- Belong to Him,
- Are cared for by Him and
- Answerable to Him
