Though He Died

Romans 6:10 KJV
For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

The death of Jesus is never a questionable issue. The only ones whom might challenge it are those who do not believe Jesus ever existed; that He is a myth. Death happens to all men. That Jesus died makes Him no different than:
  • Mohammed
  • Buddha
  • Confucius
Or any other religious personage of history.

What makes Jesus different is that, though He died, He lives.

This passage says he now, "liveth into God."
He lives as God
As God He had the power to lay down His life and take it up again. This could be said of no other.

He lives with God
At the right hand of the Father where He ever liveth to make intercession for us.

He lives as was purposed by God
  • The incarnation
  • The sinless life
  • The vicarious death and
  • The victorious resurrection

were all planned and purposed by God before the foundation of the world.
