Only Two Things Needed to Assure the Christian for the Future

Daniel 7:17-18
These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.
But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.

These two short verses sum up all of human history from the time of Daniel until eternity. There are four earthly kings that are beastly in character but in the end, the saints of God possess the kingdom forever.

The Bible goes on to give more detail, especially concerning the fourth and final king. Because of the intensity of that kingdom, and its length of existence, it is reasonable to know something about it. Knowledge, awareness of God's awareness of the beast and his terror, steels and strengthens those who much face him. But in the end, the thing we must know is, "...the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom...."
A lot of things happen in this life. Many things are unpredictable and some of them seem contrary to what we believe to be the will and plan of God. There are only two things we have to know to keep our faith in the midst of these things:
·       God is never surprised by them

·       The saints possess the kingdom for ever
