Daniel 12:12
Blessed
is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and
thirty days.
The setting is the Tribulation
period. The beginning of the chapter says it is the most terrible time this
world has ever seen. The Tribulation divides into two 3 1/2 year periods, each
one, 1290 days long, and the second of the two being by far the worst.
The Tribulation ends with the
coming of Jesus Christ to set up His kingdom. There is a gap of 45 days between
His coming and the beginning of that kingdom; 45 days of preparation and I
believe of judgment. When the preparation is finished it is a blessed event
indeed. The promises of God to Israel are fulfilled in the 1000-year reign of
Christ. So the Bible says, "Blessed is he
that waiteth …"
The word wait can be defined as
trust. It has to do with being bound up together.
· Blessed is
he that is bound up with God
· Blessed is
he who is tightly tied to the Lord
· Blessed is
he who trusts God
The days will be difficult
ones. It will require faith and patience to endure, trusting God through the
Tribulation. But the end of those whose faith is in Christ is much to be
preferred to that of those who trusted the lying words of Antichrist.
The account is during the
Tribulation but the application is as valuable today as in any time. "Blessed is he
that waiteth" upon the Lord.
