Love Isn't Enough

Mark 10:21
Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

For God so loved the World that He gave His only begotten Son

Just as God so loved the World, Jesus loved this rich young ruler. But he still left the presence of Jesus lost.

Though he was loved he lacked something.

That something is expressed in John 3:16 as faith, "…that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life."

The disciples picked up on Jesus' words and recognized perhaps the most important element of true conversion; it is impossible. It can't be done. No man,
·       Wealthy or poor
·       Proud or humble
·       Arrogant or repentant
no man is able to be saved. It is impossible.

But God does the impossible; all the time.
·       He impossibly keeps the earth the exact distance it needs to be from sun
·       He impossibly keeps every heart beating and every lung breathing
·       He impossibly hears the prayers of all who call upon Him
·       He impossibly draws near to all who seek Him, regardless of where in the world they are and

·       He impossibly saves those who call upon the name of Christ.
