Psalms 21:4 (KJV)
He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.
He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.
It should not be forgotten that God’s Word promises that Christ has made us to be kings and priests. It would not inappropriate then to make some application of this Psalm to believers today. God’s blessings upon the believer are almost too numerable to list:
God has given us our heart’s desiresVs 2
God has poured upon us the blessings of his goodnessVs 3
God has blessed us with gladnessVs 6
In this verse the king asked for life and God gave it. We can apply this to our own salvation. When we ask for salvation we in fact ask life of God. The good news is that when we ask for it, He gives it. And it is not life as the world might think to give it. It is better than a good life, it is better than a rich life, it is better than success or fame. God gives life forever and ever. It is life with God and in glory.
