Titus 3:10-11 (KJV)

It’s hard to take in our soft “get along with everything” world, but the Bible is clear that the heretic is eventually to be rejected.
Heresy and apostasy are different breeds of the same animal.
Apostasy is turning from the faith once delivered. Heresy is an attempt to lead others to do the same. Apostasy is bad doctrine. Heresy tries to pull others away from sound doctrine and into the error.[1]

We ought to try to reach the heretic, to persuade them to repent and come back. If they do not, after a few attempts (at least more than one) we have to move on.
Here’s the thing, whenever we obey this passage we can be assured that we will be accused of being unloving. It’s not true. Don’t you believe it! The heretic is condemned of himself. It’s no one’s fault but his own.
[1] One definition of heresy includes anyone who attempts to cause a division – such as trying to get a Christian to leave one church for another.
