Luke 6:21 (KJV)
Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine.[1] The beatitudes (later on in the passage) express a kind of laughter that is not good. There are those who blindly party away their goods, not realizing they have nothing to assure them of eternity.
But laughter is a thing of great benefit. When one is able to laugh he lets go of whatever is negative and hurtful and, for the moment, is in complete liberty.
The future, for the believer, is filled with this liberating joy. Whatever the pressures of this life have been, heaven is unbridled freedom, happiness and laughter. Heaven is unbridled freedom, happiness and laughter
If you can get hold of that, you can endure now.
