Genesis 41:42-43 (KJV)
And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph’s hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck; And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.

In one day Joseph went from wearing:
- Prison clothes, to
- Clean clothes, to
- Royal clothes
Most people couldn’t have handled that. Pride would have destroyed them. One of the best testimonies of Joseph’s character is that this did not.
And it shouldn’t have.
Frankly, Joseph is relatively insignificant in the grander scheme of things. Never is God described as the God of Joseph. He had one job to do. He did it faithfully. When it was finished he faded away.
There came a Pharaoh who knew not Joseph.
It was, in fact, necessary that Joseph be forgotten because it was never God’s intention that Israel remain in Egypt.
Humility is always becoming. It is never inappropriate.
Pride on the other hand….
