1 Corinthians 13:3 (KJV) The Prudent Choice

1 Corinthians 13:3 (KJV)
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
What would be the profit of dying with charity? Whether with or without charity death is still death – unless, it is not. The Apostle’s lesson here demands life after death, the potential for profit beyond the grave.
If the Bible is anything at all, it is insistent that there is another life beyond the pale of death.
That tells me that any profit I might seek ought to be on that other side. Of course I want my life right now to count. I want:
  • Profit
  • Success and
  • Blessings
in this life
But life on the other side must, of necessity, be the more significant. It makes sense then that, if I must sacrifice now for profit then, sacrifice is the prudent choice.
