Leviticus 27:26 (KJV)
Only the firstling of the beasts, which should be the LORD’S firstling, no man shall sanctify it; whether it be ox, or sheep: it is the LORD’S.

That which is the Lord’s is the Lord’s. Whether it is something He has claimed for Himself or something that has been given to Him, once it is the Lord’s, it cannot be gotten back.

Men are manipulative. We will figure out the loopholes, the work around, and the ways to eat our cake and have it too. We will find the deal, the path to buy low and sell high. We will contrive a way to make even charity profitable.

God wants none of it.

What is God’s is His. We must not profit from it.

We give to God without expectation. He is glorified in it.
