Deuteronomy 7:17-18 (KJV)
If thou shalt say in thine heart, These nations are more than I; how can I dispossess them?Thou shalt not be afraid of them: but shalt well remember what the LORD thy God did unto Pharaoh, and unto all Egypt;

When they were afraid Israel was to remember what God did in Egypt:

• The plagues he put upon the Egyptians 
• The afflictions he set even upon Pharaoh 
• The destruction that happened at the Red Sea

This was a new generation that had not seen those things with their own eyes. They had happened forty years previous. They were only stories their parents had passed down to them. But they still applied.

Whenever we face:

• Fears
• Anxiety and 
• Overwhelming circumstances

the way to move passed them is to remember what God has done for His people before.

Certainly we ought to reflect on our own past victories but we don’t have to rely on them alone.

• What God did for Israel was just as much for us. 
• What God did in the New Testament churches He did as if we were there. 
• What God did for Christians in all ages, he did on our behalf. 

We may remember them and realize this God is our God.

When we are afraid, or anxious or struggling with doubt, remember.

And trust Him.
