Acts 3:1 (KJV) What An Unlikely Pair

Acts 3:1 (KJV)
Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.
What an unlikely pair, Peter and John. Though John and his brother James were known as the sons of Thunder, it does not appear to me that John is anywhere near like Peter was.
Peter was the spokesman type
Very often when you see the two together, Peter does the talking.
Peter was the oldest of the two
At least that is what I understand from my reading.
Peter was the more aggressive
When the two ran to the empty tomb John outran Peter but stopped short of entering the tomb. Peter stepped right in when he got there.
Both men were present when Jesus was tried but only Peter was pointed out as Jesus’ disciple.
John’s ministry wasn’t as aggressive as Peter’s might have been but it was longer running. John wrote more than twice as many of the New Testament books and was the “finalizer” of the Bible.
God uses different people differently. That doesn’t mean He won’t use them together.
