John 16:1 (KJV)
These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.

The Greek word for offended here is where we get our word scandalized. Other definitions would be entrapped or tripped up. It is impossible in this world but that offenses will come but we don’t have to be offended.

Steps to avoid being offended include:

Being Pre-warned
Vs 1-3

Being with Jesus
Vs 3

Being convicted of the Spirit
Vs 7-11

Being taught and comforted by the Spirit
Vs 12-15

Being mindful of Christ’s return
Vs 16-21

Being prayerful
Vs 22-24

Being assured of the Father’s love
Vs 25-28
