Psalms 67:1-2 (KJV) Anointing, Power and Effectiveness

Psalms 67:1-2 (KJV)
To the chief Musician on Neginoth, A Psalm or Song.
God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah. That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.
This passage catches the attention immediately, and for a number of reasons:
  • It is the first verse of the Psalm
  • It is reminiscent of Moses’ prayer
  • It is what we all hope for
I noted in my visit with God this morning the reason the Psalmist desired it. His heart was toward God and not self. He didn’t desire blessing so that he would be eased and in comfort. He desired a blessing that God would be more magnified in the earth. His prayer for blessing was not a prayer for wealth, health or peace.
His was a prayer for anointing, power and effectiveness in spreading the Word of God.

To my readers:
First of all, thank you! It is a great joy to me to know you read the thoughts and lessons God has given me in His word. Secondly, I would love to hear from you. Please feel free to leave comments.
