Galatians 1:11-12 (KJV) The Difference Between a Ministry and a Job

Galatians 1:11-12 (KJV)
But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Unlike the Apostle, I (and every preacher I know) was taught of men. Most of us have attended Bible College. We might even believe it to be necessary.
Like Paul, it is essential that the preacher of God’s Word has more than what he was taught at Bible College with which to work. True faith is more than simple repetition of a doctrinal statement. It is a personal relationship with the living Lord Jesus Christ
  • We must receive salvation of the Lord
  • We must receive spiritual food and water of the Lord
  • We must know our prayers have been answered of the Lord
  • We must have experienced that our strength comes of the Lord
  • We must have messages that came not from a book but of the Lord
The difference between a ministry and an occupation in the pulpit is that the ministry comes of the Lord.
