Psalms 116:9 (KJV)
I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.

Because the Psalmist, under the inspiration of God, made this declaration, I take it that this is possible.

It is possible to walk before the Lord
The word “before” means face. He walks aware that God’s face is upon him. The word references the face as that part of the body that turns. God’s face follows and watches us. He knows our moves and the places we have been. He never leaves us or forsakes us.

He also walks with his face turned to God. Wherever life takes him, whatever he is dealing with he has his face on the Lord.

It is possible to do it in this life
This is simply a pie in the sky, when I get to heaven that’s what I’ll do sort of thing. Right now, in the land of the living. Where God is invisible to my eyes and where the issues of life are ever present. Where people press upon me to live as they live.

Right here, right now, I can and therefore will walk before the Lord.
