Isaiah 41:10 (KJV)
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

The enemy certainly appears powerful. He has skilled craftsmen who have molded gods of great design. They have nailed and fastened them so they seem immovable, unchanging and strong.
It is in the environment of this powerful idolatry that God told Israel He had chosen them. They had no reason to fear. God promised them these things:
I am thy God
They could rest in that. He is real and He is theirs. They had not made a mistake in trusting Him. They would not err in continuing to trust Him.

I will strengthen thee
God Himself would fortify them, encourage them and make them strong, even obstinate in faith.

I will help thee
It means to surround, protect or aid. So often I feel like I need surrounded in the presence of the Lord. I am alone with men but in great company with God.

I will uphold thee
He will grasp me with His right hand. He will keep me from falling. He will walk me to the end of my path.

The phrase, “be not dismayed” means to took at with wonder, to gaze, study or fix attention. My attention does not, must not, be on the apparent progress of idolatry but on the promises of God.
