Colossians 3:2 (KJV) Our Own Doing

Colossians 3:2 (KJV)
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

The passage clearly places the responsibility for the affection upon the Christian; If ye then be risen with Christ.
This is a recognizable condition. The believer can:
  • Know he is saved,
  • Know he is forgiven and
  • Know he has been risen a new life with and in Christ.

Having this knowledge, being aware of what God has done in him, the Christian is then instructed in his own responsibilities:
  • To seek those things which are above
  • To set his affections on things above

This is:
  • Purposeful,
  • Mindful,
  • Deliberate.

If we have no heart for heaven it is our own doing.
