Leviticus 4:35 (KJV) Faithful and Just

Leviticus 4:35 (KJV)

And he shall take away all the fat thereof, as the fat of the lamb is taken away from the sacrifice of the peace offerings; and the priest shall burn them upon the altar, according to the offerings made by fire unto the LORD: and the priest shall make an atonement for his sin that he hath committed, and it shall be forgiven him.

I realize the sin being addressed in this passage is that of “the common people” (vs 27) praise the Lord that God forgives the sins of the common people as quickly as those of the royal and wealthy. 

I was thinking, though, what a blessing that God also forgives the sins of the priests. Unlike our Great High Priest, Jesus, we have to seek forgiveness and cleansing for ourselves. As we minister to and rub shoulders with others, our garments do get spotted by the flesh. Praise God for 1 John 1:9 (KJV) He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
