Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
Notice, the Word of God says Simon Peter, as well as all those to whom he writes, obtained faith[1]through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.
- Not through the membership of their church
- Not through the ordinances of baptism and Lord’s Supper
- Not through a spiritual inheritance from their parents
- Not through the keeping of the Old Testament law
- Not through their own righteous acts
But through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.
