Hebrews 9:28 (KJV)

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Albert Barnes says of this passage, "It is one of the characteristics of Christians that they look for the return of their Lord; They fully believe that he will come. They earnestly desire that he will come; They are waiting for his appearing;"

It is appointed unto men once to die and we know that after this is the judgement. But the Christian looks for something different than judgment. We look for Jesus. 

• That sense of impending doom
• That since of retribution
• That sense that tells the sinner that, there must be some price for such wicked living, 

is all done away in the heart of the believer. 

We do not look for the retribution or vengeance of the Lord. We look instead for the One who died that we might live.
